“most of them did not even know why they had come” [Acts 19:32(GNB)]

<b>“most of them did not even know why they had come”.</b>  They were just carried along with the crowd and found themselves in the amphitheatre crying, ‘Great is Artemis of Ephesus’ for two hours on end. (This was the demonstration orchestrated to oppose the Apostle Paul.)

People today don’t know why they do a lot of things. In the heat of the moment they seemed right but afterwards they regret what happened. So often we fail to appreciate what is going on.  Most are unaware of what God is doing and oblivious to His love towards them in sending Jesus. They do not realise it is sin that causes them to ever make mistakes.  The town clerk of Ephesus did at last bring some sanity to that uproar in Ephesus. Today it behoves the Christian to do the same in the circle where he moves.
