“my kindness shall not depart from thee” [Isaiah 54:10]

“my kindness shall not depart from thee”. God will not stop loving His children. If His love reached them when they were away from Him, it is inconceivable that it will desert them when they turn to Him.
God will not begin a work He is unable to finish, not disinterestedly turn away to do something else.
He may need to chastise and speak severely. The rod of correction will at times be applied: invariably it will be unpopular. In His wisdom the Lord may withhold what we in our ignorance consider essential, but it is only for our eventual good.
As did the Israelite in Isaiah’s day, so today, the believer may know that God’s kindness is shining through whatever vicissitudes of life may befall him.
