“one pearl of great price” [Matthew 13:46]

“one pearl of great price”. Outstanding! Nothing like it before! Worth selling all to get possession of it – and many are ready to do this!
Such is the description that Jesus gave of admission to the kingdom of heaven. It is priceless and worth disposing of all else in order to get it.
When once you recognise its value you realise what a lot of time is spent chasing lesser stones that will slip through the fingers and be lost.
This pearl is unique. Look what it is – eternal life and bliss. Look who this pearl is – the Lord Jesus by His atoning sacrifice at Golgotha. Note to whom it is offered – it is offered to whoever will recognise its worth and claim its prize.
