“Praise the Lord, O my soul” [Psalm 103:22(RAV)]
April 28
“Praise the Lord, O my soul”. This phrase found at the end of several psalms comes like the crash of symbols on the final beat of a great anthem.
The Psalmist has been picking his way through a harvest-field of blessings. Now he calls on everyone to praise the Lord – the angels, mighty ones who do His bidding and who obey His word. He calls on all the heavenly hosts – myriads of stars or creatures of light in the heavenly realm. All God’s works deserve God’s praise.
When you cannot see His purpose right now you can have faith that all will be right in His good time. The true church is scattered but every member can look to that final display of its glory in the bride of Christ. The part, albeit so small, that must not be missing is the praise of your soul.
