“they heard that he was alive” [Mark 16:11(RSV)]

“they heard that he was alive”. Some of their associates told them, but they could not believe what they heard. Later two others who met Jesus on the road to Emmaus repeated the news but the disciples did not believe.
When Thomas was told that Jesus had appeared, he thought the disciples were all hallucinated!
Thank God we don’t have to depend upon what someone else says. Though we may first hear through someone else, we can check it out for ourselves. The living Lord Jesus makes Himself known to those who seek Him.
Jesus is alive: the evidence stands examination and the experience of His presence is best of all.
