”Sell your possessions and give to the poor”. Never has this been more timely than today! More people have more than ever before, while there are more people in poverty than ever. The poverty trap will not open until the rich turn the key in the door. Looking after your surplus can be a worry: giving it to those in need could make the difference between living and dying.
How long are we going to tell those born in poverty that their forebears should not have misused aid given them? That many poor will waste any money given to them, should not stop us giving a helping hand, a new chance, and to educate in the proper use of wealth and resources. The greatest offering is when to the poor the gospel is preached: that can see the transfer of eternal riches.
