“supposing he had been dead” [Acts 14:19]

January 30

“supposing he had been dead”. Those Satan-inspired fellows made a great mistake when they left Paul for dead, after stoning him. He got up out of the dust and blazed the Gospel trail all the way to Rome.

Look at some of Satan’s other grave errors.

He assumed Jesus was finished when he had the seal placed on the tomb.

He supposed that the beatings and imprisonments would knock the enthusiasm out of the early disciples.

He expected the dispersal of the disciples from Jerusalem would deaden the revival whereas it served to spread it.

And it’s likely he has been telling you he will soon stop your spiritual progress and that you should give up now.

Don’t believe him: he’s a liar. Jesus raises the fallen and puts power into the faint-hearted.
