“the gift of God is eternal life” [Romans 6:23]

“the gift of God is eternal life”. On a day when we examine our gifts more carefully and begin to enjoy them more fully, can we pause to consider the greatest gift of all. Those who receive this gift find that its blessing begins now. The gift of eternal life makes all the difference to mortal or earthly life. Not only do I anticipate the blessing and joy of heaven but all I do now is related to it.
I am encouraged to lay up treasure there, to sow good seed now that will be reaped there, to lift up my eyes and look upon the fields of the earth and discern what the Lord would have me to do, knowing He promises wages.
This is so different from those who do not have the gift of eternal life. For such it must be doing all you can now, for someday it must all be given up.
