“Giving thanks” [Colossians 1:12]

“Giving thanks”. Paul’s Letter to the church at Colosse is soaked in thanks.
When he and Timothy recalled the faith and love of the believers there, they gave thanks. When he wrote his great prayer for the Christians in Colosse he included in it that they might give thanks to the Father who had made them fit to be partakers of salvation.
Later on in the Letter he tells them whatever they do, to do it in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
So do we give thanks always? Do we recognise the blessings we have in Jesus? Only then will we give thanks in all things, because we recognise God’s hand in them all.
