“The spirit of Elijah is resting upon Elisha” [II Kings 2:15(NIV)]

“The spirit of Elijah is resting upon Elisha”. This was how the company of the prophets described the transference of power from one to the other when Elijah was taken up into heaven.
These words tell us that God has His chosen vessels ready to fill every vacancy that occurs when a servant of the Lord is called home to glory.
In fact, all who receive the Lord as Saviour are born of the Spirit and are promised the power of the Spirit that will enable them to fill out the role or mantle that falls upon them.
It does not matter how great the standard someone may have set before you, God will give you all you need to do as much and sometimes more than those who have gone before.
