“the sword of the Spirit”. Not a ceremonial sword to be worn when on parade.
The sword of the Spirit is a vital piece of the Christian’s armour. It is the God-breathed Word of God which Jesus used to cut down the Devil’s evil insinuations when tempted in the wilderness. It is the means whereby every child of God may defend himself as well as attack the evil all around him.
Do you use the sword of the Spirit? Is God’s Word vital to you, or is it rather like a sword that is never taken out of its sheath? It is there but you never consult it.
In your thought life, when evil insinuations come uninvited, when evil desires raise their ugly head, in your stand against evil and in preventing the Devil from attacking others, make full use of the sword of the Spirit.
