“there are many adversaries” [I Corinthians 16:9]

“there are many adversaries”. This is the second half of Paul’s statement that a great and effectual door has been opened for him. We think of great doors opening to great opportunities and blessings and so they do. But with every blessing there will be a collection of stumbling blocks and temptations and a host of adversaries.
The Christian’s conflict is no easy battle: victory is assured in the Name of our Mighty Conqueror Jesus but it is not a walk over. It calls for diligent prayer and the wearing of the whole armour of God. The shield of faith must be in place as you move forward into the large place to which your open door of opportunity leads.
And remember to enlist the prayer support of any who cannot accompany you.
