“whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple” [Acts 21:29]
October 22
“whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple”. A turning point came in the 21st chapter. Up to that time the Apostle had more or less been free to plan and make his own itinerary. In this chapter he was mobbed by his fellow countrymen in Jerusalem and rescued by the Roman militia who took him prisoner.
This happened because the mob was fed with wrong information – they supposed that Paul had defiled the Temple by admitting Greeks into it. But the false accusation and arrest did not finish the usefulness of God’s servant. Rather it resulted in his appearance before kings and opportunity to preach in Imperial Rome.
Don’t spend too much time fretting about a false accusation: rather look for the new avenues of service it might bring.
