“woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel” [I Corinthians 9:16]
October 21
“woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel”. The Apostle Paul felt the need to preach the gospel because he had heard it, received it and experienced its blessings. The same holds for all who know the truth of the gospel.
Preaching is proclaiming and Paul preached to individuals and to groups. Our preaching should be telling others the need to repent and believe in Christ as Saviour and Lord. If preaching and believing were confined to the pulpit, few would hear.
The gospel must remain the centre of a full-gospel ministry.
Christ died for our sins, was buried and the third day rose again. This should be on the menu at every preaching occasion. It is a truth foretold in the Old Testament, described four-fold in the Gospels and the foundation of all teaching in the Epistles.
