“work for the food that lasts for eternal life”. When man fell in the Garden of Eden he was told by God that he would need to work hard if the ground was to produce anything. And much time must be spent in labour if we would take our proper place in society.
But Jesus brought a new dimension into the struggle to live. It was that there was an eternal reward for the sincere seeker and that some effort should be expended in food that lasts for eternal life.
Eccentrics may shut themselves away and go after nothing else, mistakenly missing the very field of life where this service may be found. Most, however, don’t do anything about eternal reward.
You direct some of your energy towards a lasting return today.
