“feed me with the food that is needful for me” [Proverbs 30:8(RSV)]

“feed me with the food that is needful for me”. A glance at the first part of this verse from the Words of Agur will show that he asked to have neither poverty nor riches. Both can be equally damaging. The writer wanted the Lord to give him just that diet that would enable him to please his Creator and achieve that for which he was created.
God knows what is best for each one of us: He is the One to ask. Our own inclinations and even the counsel of a trusted friend can be flawed. It is not merely asking, but accepting the answer given that is needed and sometimes this is the most difficult.
Recognise the hand of the Lord in whatever befalls you. And this is best achieved by staying close beside the Lord. Walk with Him and know your need met!
