“he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord” [II Kings 22:2]

October 6, 2023

“he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord”. King Hezekiah was succeeded by his son Manasseh who did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord. It is surprising because his father was a godly king. Manasseh was succeeded by Amon who also did that which was evil.
Then Josiah came to the throne at eight years of age and he did that which was right. It is significant because you might expect him to be like his father. Many make their excuse for waywardness that it was inherited from their father.
Not so. We each have a responsibility to live uprightly in the sight of God. He has a plan for each of us and equips us to fulfil His purpose. Every one of us is doing something: let it be what is right in the sight of the Lord. Check it out by reference to God’s Word.
