“Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites” [II Chronicles 30:22(NIV)]

<b>“Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites”.</b>  People need encouragement and God’s work needs “encouragers”. There is a lot of lethargy and half-heartedness and folk need encouraging to begin working. Note that it was the Levites, or priestly tribe, that Hezekiah encouraged. They led the people in worship and they needed encouragement.  They were not the last to wonder what they were doing all this for and whether it was all worth it.

Serving the Lord can experience much discouragement before its final reward. The pathway is often lined with doubters and sceptics. Plenty will say the work will not succeed before it has started and the inspiration from them is like a damp firework. So, look to the Lord, get the heavenly aspect of the work and be encouraged.
