“if the goodman of the house had known” [Matthew 24:43]

“if the goodman of the house had known”. We don’t know when the Lord will return and so need to be ready. That He is coming He made quite clear with the words “I will come again”. We need to be ready.
Followers of Jesus all down the years have lived in expectancy of His coming. It is an attitude that all believers should adopt.
We don’t know the day or the hour, not even the year or decade but we do know He is coming. The intervening years have seen many swept into the kingdom. The places at heaven’s banquet must be fast filling.
Taking every opportunity to do good and to speak a word in His name, to live a life honouring to God is the best indication that we expect His return anytime. Let it be that though we don’t know the hour, we are ready!
