“How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God” [Psalm 139:17(RAV)]

“How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God”. The important words to note here are ‘thoughts to me’ – that is, God’s thoughts relating to the Psalmist.
The word translated ‘thought’ is unique in the Old Testament. It conveys the meaning of ‘association of ideas or plans’, and it is the revealed idea or plan of God as it relates to a man.
The Lord has made known His will to us. He has revealed mysteries in Christ that were hidden from the foundation of the world. Now, if the Psalmist was conscious of a Divine plan and purpose affecting his life down to the smallest detail, should we not be aware of the same? It is those who seek God’s will for their life who know the preciousness of His Presence.
