“if we neglect so great salvation” [Hebrews 2:3]
August 7, 2024
“if we neglect so great salvation”. Neglecting salvation is knowing about it but doing nothing.
It is a great salvation because it lifts from the lowest to the highest: great because it is all of grace – offered by God’s unmerited favour and great because it is entirely the work of God Himself.
Therefore, it should be no surprise that there is a warning given to those who neglect it. Even hearing about it carries the responsibility to find out more.
Neglect can be because of unbelief – you do not believe it. It may be disinterest or loss of interest – other things occupy your time. The importance of Christ’s salvation is so great that there is no escaping His wrath if neglected.
