“saved” [Acts 2:21]
October 26
“saved”. We need to be saved because we are lost – spiritually dead in transgressions and sins. Adam’s disobedience brought sin into our world. The second Adam, Jesus, brought salvation and this is offered freely for all who will believe.
It is saved from destruction or perishing. It relates to the present – John wrote that we know we have passed from death to life. That’s saved all right!
It relates to the future. God promises to keep those who commit themselves to Him and he that endures to the end shall be saved.
Now it is saved from the power of sin – sin shall not have dominion over you. In the future it will be saved from the presence of sin – in heaven there is nothing that defiles.
