“We’ll go with you” [John 21:3(NIV)]

September 6

“We’ll go with you”. Not always the wise thing to say, for even the best can be misguided and to go with them would be a mistake. On the other hand companionship, especially when it is extended to those who are cast down, is a kindness. It was when the other disciples agreed to go fishing with Peter on his abortive trip that they met Jesus.
The incident serves to remind us that the Lord is mindful of our actions whether we act alone or in consort and that doing things with the best intention will be rewarded.
Maybe Peter went fishing to take his mind off his present circumstances. Whatever the reason, Jesus met him and those with him and He will do the same with us even when we go on some exercise without His blessing.
