“Why are we sitting here until we die? ” [II Kings 7:3(RAV)]
April 14
p>“Why are we sitting here until we die? “. I think the emphasis on these words spoken by four lepers was that they were sitting doing nothing. They were waiting for something to happen, for others to do something, when it turned out they were to resolve the matter. Samaria was besieged and they were in no-man’s land outside the city walls. Scraps of food normally thrown to them had finished. They decided to go to the camp of the besieging Syrians and they found the Syrian army had fled leaving the camp deserted.
So the point to consider today is whether you are sitting doing nothing. It is easy to say that there is nothing you can do, but it is mistaken. If you sit doing nothing, nothing will get done and life is not to be like that!
Ask the Lord to show you what He wants you to do.
