“so great salvation” [Hebrews 2:3]

“so great salvation”. It is great because without it man had no hope whatever of extricating himself from the quagmire of sin. Great because it is all embracing. Salvation in Christ may be experienced by anyone who will believe and accept it; no means test or qualifying period. Furthermore, it is great because there is no waiting period. No reason why you should not be saved now, if you’re not yet converted. No striving to improve or put things right. Repent and be converted.
Great, most of all because it was secured for us by the Captain of our Salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ, who came where we were, allowed Himself to be made sin though He had never sinned, was crucified, descended into hell and then led captivity captive. No one else has done this: no one else could.
