“you will eat and be satisfied” [Deuteronomy 11:15(NIV)]

“you will eat and be satisfied”. This is the promise for all who walk in obedience to the Lord. It speaks of God’s provision for His people. For the Israelites it was provision for their physical needs. The rain produced a harvest of grain, wine and oil which in turn provided food for them to eat. But it also touched their spiritual life. Time and again, as they went after other gods they not only broke the relationship they had with God but also missed out on the blessing. The same is true for us today. God will provide for all our needs as we walk in obedience to Him. True satisfaction can be found in God alone. As Jesus told the woman at the well, that which the world offers will never satisfy the longings of our hearts. The Lord can and will, to all who walk in His ways.
