“all the sons of God shouted for joy” [Job 38:7]

“all the sons of God shouted for joy”. That was at the dawn of creation – before sin entered and marred its beauty.
The Psalmist said that the Lord is gone up with a great shout. The processional hymn for the King of Glory is one of triumph. When the walls of Jericho fell flat it was that final blast of trumpets and shout that did it. Gideon’s men needed to shout as well as to break their pitchers before they routed the enemy. Israel brought up the ark with shouting after its captivity by the Philistines. The blind and the leper shouted when Jesus passed by: the whole city went after Him shouting when He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.
But the greatest is yet to be – the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout. Those who trust in Him now will share with Him then.
