“the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps and lyres” [Nehemiah 12:27(NIV)]

March 10

p>“the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully
the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps and lyres”.
So it was in Nehemiah’s day and so it should be today. Joyful Christians are always in demand – not only in worship services, but in workshops, schools and homes.
True joy comes from the heart: it is not put on. The world’s sadness – and there is much of it – cannot be assuaged by the sinner’s mirth. It can be lifted by the Saviour’s joy and that must be seen in the Christian. The Lord is looking for joyful people, too. He expects His People to come before His Presence with gladness. He paid a great price to redeem them and He is continually working for their good. They should be glad about it.
