“Christ’s love compels us” [II Corinthians 5:14(NIV)]

“Christ’s love compels us”. This explains why Saul of Tarsus was converted to Christ – it is the reason why men and women all down the years have been doing the same.
Paul came into contact with Christ’s love on the Damascus Road, when he discovered that the One Whom he was persecuting loved him and graciously revealed Himself to him.
When he asked the Lord what He wanted him to do, it was revealed to him that he would have to suffer in his appointment as ‘Ambassador to the Gentiles’. But he didn’t flinch or ‘chicken out’. The inspiration he received at his conversion was enough to send him anywhere.
Christ’s love compelled him to throw away lesser crowns to gain a greater. It will do the same for us.
