“he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God”. Saul, later called Paul, had a complete turn around when he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. Before he preached negatively – that he thought it right to do many things against Christ and His followers. Now he preached positively – that Christ is the Son of God.
That Jesus is the Son of God is the very kernel of truth and the starting point from which other truths develop. It denotes the Incarnation in the virgin birth: it validates all the claims Jesus made in His teaching. It explains the miracles when He stilled the storm, walked on the water and when demons fled before Him. It provides assurance of salvation, the power of the Holy Spirit to live a godly life and the hope of the resurrection. This and everything else because Jesus is the Son of God.
