“hope to the end” [I Peter 1:13]

May 15

“hope to the end”. In his letter to believers scattered throughout Asia, Peter is exhorting them not to lose heart. In effect, he is telling them to fix their eyes on the end of the race.
Glory awaits the child of God at the end of the way. And should it be that in the providence of God the journey is long and arduous, the glory at the end will be greater. Your hope must not just be in success, achievement and advancement in the day, though the Lord may give you these. Your hope must be in God’s keeping power – able to keep you to the end.
You may feel you are inadequate and realise that in your strength you will not reach your goal. If so, let that feeling throw you upon the Lord and His promise. “Hoping to the end” should not be dulled by hurdles along the way.
