“I come to you in the name of the Lord” [I Samuel 17:45(RAV)]

March 6

“I come to you in the name of the Lord”. David with his stones and sling must have looked very vulnerable against the armour-clad giant, Goliath. Five smooth stones seemed little match for a coat of mail weighing 5,000 shekels of bronze. Yet, as in all of life’s conflicts, appearances can be deceptive. The exchange of words between these two give us a better evaluation.
Goliath boasted of his great stature and the strength he had in his armour. He had big faith in human frailty. Most telling, he defied the armies of the living God.
David had practically nothing other than past experience of God’s deliverance and present trust in Him now.
Reflect and see where your trust is as you go forth to fight the battles of this day. You should have no doubt where real success is found.
