“I go … unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me”. It was more important for the Apostle Paul to be led by the Spirit than that he should know what was going to happen to him.
There are those who will not step forward until they have been given specific assurances about what will happen. The best assurance that it will be well with me tomorrow, is that I should be led by the Spirit today. Few, if any, are told in detail what the future holds. The disciple must volunteer to follow Christ; he will then be told the job he has to do.
For this reason, all of us need to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, not visionaries trying to describe the end while still at the beginning.
