“there was a division among the people because of him” [John 7:43]

“there was a division among the people because of him”. Some accept while others reject: Jesus said He would divide those of a household. He came and lived and died and rose again that those who believe might not perish but have eternal life. But there are those who will not believe. Jesus said to His hearers, “You will not come to me that you might have life” and it is the same today.
But who would refrain from sending a rescue vessel into a besieged port because some might refuse to leave their doomed city? So it is that the gospel of God’s love and grace must be preached. It is because we were all perishing that Christ came to save us: now the gospel is preached and those who believe are saved from perishing.
On which side of the division shall we be found?
