“until” [Matthew 24:38]

August 30, 2023

“until”. Jesus used this little word with great effect. In the days of Noah they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage UNTIL the day Noah entered the ark.

Jesus told us in His parable that God allows wheat and tares (good and evil) to grow together UNTIL harvest.

The Psalmist realised that the prosperity of evil men was only UNTIL God decided their end should come.

You can apply it in so many ways: life in whatever form continues as God permits. The burden He asks you to bear is only for as long as He knows it is needful for you. Weeping will only last until the dawning of His morning.

Sometimes the sinner’s rope is so long and slack that he does not think it is there. But what he calls “liberty” is only until God calls him in for account.
