“Where is the guestchamber …? ” [Luke 22:11]

“Where is the guestchamber …? “. Where is that place you said you’d give to the Lord for His service? What happened to all those promises you made in your youth? So often the ‘guestchamber’ reserved for the Lord has been occupied by somebody else. Or it has become cluttered with the junk of years and it is unfit for anyone’s use now. Others have moved into smaller premises and there is no guestchamber any more.
Jesus’ experience is like Joseph’s and Mary’s as far as many are concerned – ‘no room in the inn’. Time for all kinds of things but no time for what is the most important.
The Lord still asks ‘Where is the guestchamber?’ How marvellous that He wants to be guest with someone that is a sinner. Make room, let the Master in.
