“as we have opportunity” [Galatians 6:10(NIV)]

“as we have opportunity”. Opportunities come and go. Some are taken, others are lost, but here Paul speaks of an ongoing opportunity. There is no doubt in his mind that we will have this opportunity. It’s not ‘if’ but ‘as’. This opportunity can be long or short, it can be passing or regular. It’s not dependent on another’s actions or outside events. This is an opportunity available to all and is for each one of us to accept. Each and every dealing we have with others, at work or at home becomes a potential opportunity to ‘do good’. Irrespective of what they might do or how they might react, we are able to ‘do good’ to them. Don’t miss the opportunities you have today to show God’s goodness to others.
