“Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach his statutes”. Ezra studied his subject before presenting it. When he found what was demanded of him by the law of the Lord, he did it. Once practising it in his own life he was able to teach others by precept and example and he set to and did this is no small way.
When a person in his position does this it is not surprising to find a whole nation has turned to the Lord in repentance.
We do need to warn the next generation not to repeat our mistakes and get in the mess we find ourselves. But the best way to do this is by setting an example. Let others learn from our own study and practice.
