“Great men are not always wise” [Job 32:9]

“Great men are not always wise”. The greatest of men are not perfect and though behaving in an exemplary manner and giving wise advice, there is likely to be a time when their example should not be followed nor their counsel heeded.
Until our attention is drawn to the God-man, Christ Jesus and our gaze riveted upon Him there is always a danger that we come to ‘worship’ some of the greatest men who we know are not always wise.
He who is really great humbled Himself as He stooped down to man’s level – came alongside him as the Good Samaritan did to the man lying injured by robbers at the roadside. It is only when you receive His loving care in salvation and restoration that you realise He is different from all others – so great He can be trusted implicitly.
