“he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town”. Jesus sometimes leads the blind to one side before He can minister to them. All true followers of Jesus need to know His leading and to move into a place where, away from life’s distractions, He can speak His healing words to their soul.
When Jesus told His disciples to come apart and rest awhile it was for a holiday: it was drawing fellowship and strength from His presence away from the milling crowd.
Don’t expect God to do running repairs when it is the miracle of a renewal you need! Popularity and current trends of opinion can stop God from having His way. When Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town, He anointed his eyes and began the healing that gave Him full sight. He would do the same in a spiritual sense for all of us.
