“He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly” [II Corinthians 9:6(RAV)]
“He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly”. It comes down to the adage we all know yet patently fail to practice, namely that what we do today decides what we will have tomorrow.
We try to believe that we can start afresh tomorrow. But when tomorrow comes we find we are building upon today whether we want to do so or not.
So a good harvest tomorrow calls for generous sowing today. This applies to all areas of our life.
The Apostle Paul was thinking especially of the calling to discipleship that the believer has. Your life and mine have more in them than work, recreation and sleep. Our life should be locked into that purpose for which God made us who we are. And we should be busy doing the job given us.
