“Serve the Lord your God” [II Chronicles 30:8]

<b>“Serve the Lord your God”.</b>  Hezekiah’s reign marked a reformation in Jerusalem and a reinstatement of the offices of the temple. He told his people that they had a responsibility to serve the Lord. It is a message that needs telling today.

Hezekiah’s message was for all the people. By their consecration and dedication, all must serve the Lord. The worship of Jehovah was to be an integral part of their life.

The way that worship had been discredited and disbanded incurred the wrath of God and Hezekiah told the people they should begin again to serve the Lord that His wrath might be appeased.  God has done great things for us as He did for the Israelites in Hezekiah’s day: we need to appreciate this and serve Him with a grateful heart.
