“Who has believed our report? ” [Isaiah 53:1(RAV)]

“Who has believed our report? “. What Isaiah foretold in prophecy was witnessed by dwellers in Palestine 200 years later. For nearly two thousand years the followers of Jesus have born testimony to the truth of the gospel in their lives as the news has spread all around the world.
The Jews could not accept that their Messiah was to suffer: they looked for a king who would release them from bondage. They did not believe the report. When Jesus was to be taken and tried by the religious leaders and rulers of His day, all forsook Him and fled.
At first when the report of His resurrection broke, His own disciples were slow to believe, one of them insisting he would only do so if he touched His body. But the truth did dawn: the glory was revealed. Isaiah’s Suffering Servant was seen to be the Saviour Jesus.
