“Whosoever shall confess me before men” [Luke 12:8]

June 10

“Whosoever shall confess me before men”. Confession need not be saying anything: it may just be standing up and being counted as a true Christian. Like nailing your colours to the mast, it is raising the flag so that it cannot be taken down.
Opportunities to do this are often missed. Once you have made Jesus Lord, it should be done straight away, and it may be done in a sentence. Sadly, many who will sing about Jesus in their fellowship do not mention His name to those outside who need Him.
The reward for confessing Christ before men is great and completely out of proportion to the effort put in. Perhaps the answer is to be so filled with His love that you cannot keep quiet! Jesus says He will mention or confess our name as His disciple to His Father in heaven.
