“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life” [Psalm 138:7(NIV)]

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life”. Few, if any, of us escape trouble: we don’t have to look far to see it. If it does not affect us directly it is experienced by those dear to us. Life keeps going and we need to keep walking too. We are all doing something with the hours and minutes that are given us. And trouble can cause us to make a mess of things if we let it.
This verse is a promise for all who love the Lord and seek to follow Him. He will keep them. This is a great comfort when folk all around you seem to be slipping and when darkness obscures the next step you take.
The promise encourages us to let the Lord take control of things – and that includes our troubles.
